Durrell field programme
Durrell Wildlife Park
Found in the tall grasslands of the southern Himalayan foothills, the smallest pig in the world is also the rarest. Loss and degradation of the pygmy hog's habitat threatens to wipe out the species, but successful reintroductions offer some hope for the future.
Our timelines tell the story behind the species and our programmes: from Durrell's first involvement through to our consevation activities today and the differences we have made on the ground. Click for the full story of the pygmy hog
