Our impact
At Durrell Conservation Academy, we know there are skills and experience out there to prevent further species from becoming extinct. We also know that with more support and opportunity, we can capture, share and apply these qualities to more conservationists and projects worldwide. Successful conservation action involves a wide variety of biological and cross-disciplinary skills. To tackle the escalating challenges to save biodiversity, we have to pass those skills on to the conservationists who need it the most. As a result of our training, an individual can be more personally effective and capable of taking effective conservation action, but don’t just take our word for it, hear how our training has made a difference from our graduates themselves.

Rewild Our World
In our Rewild our World strategy, introduced in 2017, we set four ambitious goals to achieve by 2025 with a vision to create a wilder, healthier, more colourful world.
Our third goal was to have 500 endangered species projects working more effectively. Across all of our courses, we trained 605 people and our training was reported to be highly influential, with an average impact rating of 83%.
