A new dining experience at Jersey Zoo

Dodo 02032023 09

Cafe Dodo at Jersey Zoo is undergoing a renovation. The much-loved soft play area will stay the same, but we are increasing the seating options available and modernising the inside to make it a nicer area for all to enjoy.

The work is taking place between 23 February and 25 March, during which the cafe will be closed. We know that Cafe Dodo is a social hub for our members and visitors, so when planning these upgrades, we wanted to make sure the work was completed during one of our quieter periods and would be back up and running ahead of the Easter holidays.

This work was made possible thanks to the generosity of The Visitor Economy Development Grant.

Cafe Firefly

Cafe Firefly will remain open during this time. Here guests can purchase hot drinks, grab and go food and sweet treats, all of which can be enjoyed within our zoo grounds.

Alternative indoor areas and baby changing facilities

Our Discovery Centre will remain open whilst this work is taking place. Here there are baby changing facilities, a seating area, as well as crafts and books for children (and adults!) to enjoy.

We also have baby changing facilities located in Cafe Firefly and in the toilets closest to our Giant Otters.

To shelter on a rainy day, why not visit our Reptile House, Tortoise Tunnel or Orangutan house, where you can get up close and learn more about some of the fascinating species we look after.

Heating up food for young children

In the Cafe Dodo seating area, we also provide a microwave for heating up milk and food for young children. If this service is required, please visit Cafe Firefly, where our team are on hand to help.

Play areas

We have two alternative play areas available at Jersey Zoo. This includes the sandpit outside Cafe Dodo, as well as our Eco Explorers playground. Here children can enjoy the Orangutan Nest climbing structure and slide, modelled after the sleeping platforms that wild great apes create out of branches, and explore Durrell’s Den, an outdoor mud kitchen where children can connect with nature.
