Upgrading our current food and drink offering at Jersey Zoo
We’re really excited to be making some much needed updates to the cafes at Jersey Zoo. This includes upgrading the seating and counter areas at Cafe Dodo and transforming Cafe Firefly into a grab and go style coffee shop. These changes will mean there is more space for little monkeys to roam free and for friends to grab a coffee, all whilst supporting our mission of saving species from extinction.
As part of these updates, Cafe Dodo will close from Monday 23 February until Wednesday 25 March. This means we can do the work as quickly and safely as possible.
We know that Cafe Dodo is a social hub for our members and visitors, so when planning these upgrades, we wanted to make sure the work was completed during one of our quieter periods and would be back up and running ahead of the Easter holidays.
This work was made possible thanks to the generosity of The Visitor Economy Development Grant.
However hungry or thirsty you are, you’ll find something to satisfy you at Jersey Zoo.
Café Firefly and Café Dodo both offer a range of gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options to please the whole family.
You have the choice of indoor, outdoor or takeaway dining, and there are picnic benches dotted around the zoo where you can sit, soak up the atmosphere and get closer to nature.
Café Firefly
Situated inside the Visitor Centre, Café Firefly is the perfect place to sit and relax before or after a fun-filled day at the zoo. The coffee shop style cafe offers a selection of grab and go food, warming hot drinks, as well as a variety of freshly baked cakes for a sweet treat.

1 February - 31 October: 9:30 – 17:00
Drinks and snacks served until 16:30.
1 November - 31 January: 9:30 – 16:00
Drinks and snacks served until 15:30.
Café Dodo
Café Dodo is located right in the middle of the zoo and offers a family-friendly menu to suit everyone.
Dine indoors and let your little monkeys roam free in the children’s play area, or eat alfresco on the terrace overlooking Discovery Desert and its meerkat residents!
There are hot and cold food options as well as snacks and treats to pick up and enjoy on the go.
