A graduate of the University of Edinburgh, Alison has enjoyed a long career in nature conservation at RSPB Scotland, latterly heading up all funding development and philanthropy north of the border. After retirement in 2025, she has joined the Board of Trustees of the Scottish Seabird Centre and the Loch Lomond and Trossachs Countryside Trust alongside carrying out a voluntary role as Funding Advisor for the Alliance for Scotland's Rainforest.
