Durrell presents the Investec Wilderness Ball

We are delighted to announce the Investec Wilderness Ball will take place on Saturday 28th September 2019.

Kindly sponsored by Investec, the Wilderness Ball is a celebration of Durrell's 60th anniversary and our international work saving species from extinction.

Commenting on their sponsorship, Brendan Stewart from Investec said, “Investec is delighted to be sponsoring the 2019 Wilderness Ball, we are a strong supporter of Durrell and their amazing conservation work globally. Together we share the same values and interest in the environment, conservation and education. The last ball was a wonderful success and we are excited to be a part of it bringing it to fruition again. It will be a fantastic event for both Jersey and Durrell.”

The Royal Jersey Showground will be transformed by the same team that bought you the Investec Rainforest Ball in 2017. Guests will be immersed in amazing technicolour, highlighting the vibrancy and beauty of our natural world and a whole evening of entertainment will unfold to celebrate our wild and wonderful planet. Guests will enjoy international dance and music acts that will take them on a journey of discovery; a journey that shows the power we all have to heal the planet and protect both people and wildlife.

The night will start with a vibrant drinks reception followed by a three course meal inspired by flavours from around the world. The evening will be hosted by Durrell’s newest ambassador, naturalist, explorer and TV presenter Monty Halls.

Lesley Dickie, Chief Executive of Durrell said, “The Investec Wilderness Ball will be a bold and bright celebration of everything that Durrell strives for. We believe that every time the world loses a species it loses a little colour. However, we want to show that people can make a difference and the evening will showcase the natural beauty and diversity of the world we live in.”

She further commented, “We are so grateful to Investec for their ongoing support following on from the success of The Rainforest Ball in 2017, which raised over £220,000 for our work with Sumatran orangutans.”

This spectacular evening will bring to life Durrell’s vision of a wilder, healthier, more colourful world and will raise funds to rebuild diverse and resilient landscapes in which wildlife and people can thrive together. A limited number of tables of ten are available at a cost of £5,000.

Durrell are also looking for some unique and exciting ‘money can’t buy’ items or experiences for the auction on the evening.
