Delivered by Durrell Conservation Training Mauritius, Part of the Durrell Conservation Academy
Helping people connect, collaborate and find solutions
Conservation practitioners often work with teams, communities and stakeholders who have different perspectives, priorities and interests.
This five-day practical course will help you develop the skills and confidence to facilitate effective meetings, workshops and discussions including situations involving complex issues, competing interests and conflict.
You will develop skills in:
- Active listening & effective communication
- Facilitation & group dynamics
- Problem-solving & decision-making
- Negotiation & consensus building
- Conflict management
- Workshop planning & facilitation
The course combines practical exercises, group work, role play, reflection and feedback using realistic conservation situations.
Designed for practitioners who want to become more confident and effective communicators and facilitators.
Who should apply?
- Conservation practitioners from civil society organisations (CSOs), NGOs and other conservation organisations in Mauritius, Madagascar and Seychelles.
- Particularly suited to practitioners who facilitate discussions, work in teams, or engage with local communities, government, NGOs and other stakeholders.
