This is no ordinary bus journey; the exterior of the bus features a full vinyl wrap depicting a gorilla's strong hand and the interior has been completely customised.

Travellers are treated to an engaging on-board experience including a grass floor, camouflage ceiling and exciting audio telling stories about the history of Durrell and some of its overseas conservation projects.

Taking pride of place in our beautiful new visitor centre, Cafe Firefly has more to offer than the average eatery! Al-fresco on the terrace at ‘Firefly’ means dining in truly rare company… in front of the ‘cloud forest’, complete with Andean bears, howler monkeys and a beautiful waterfall…unrivaled ambience!

The menu offers real quality and variety, from hearty breakfast choices (including vegetarian) to light lunches or full meals. Many of the ingredients are sourced from our on-site organic farm, and those that aren’t are sourced locally, and ethically. The dessert range has become a local legend, with our banoffee pie attracting Islanders on a regular basis! There’s also a cream tea with a variety of scones on offer, all baked on site, freshly, every morning.
