Durrell’s work cannot stop during this global pandemic and our team of dedicated keepers, vets and support staff at Jersey Zoo cannot work from home. They are doing everything in their power to ensure our precious animals continue to receive the same level of expert care they have all year round.
For the first time in our history, it was necessary to close Jersey Zoo’s gates to visitors for seven weeks, significantly affecting our income and leaving us in an uncertain position.
We have been blown away by some of our loyal supporters getting in touch to ask how they can help and we are encouraged that together we can get through this difficult time. As a charity we rely on the support of our visitors, members, donors and adopters to continue our vital work creating a wilder, healthier, more colourful world for all of us.
The rapid spread of coronavirus is thought to have started in wildlife markets and has demonstrated how connected we all are. Our planet, and the species we share it with, is under threat and wildlife markets and the illegal wildlife trade are only increasing these pressures. Your support protecting habitats and endangered species to rebuild a healthy natural world has never been more vital.
Together, we can make sure our zoo endures this crisis and that we continue to help drive the societal change needed to save and restore the natural world for the benefit of us all.
Thank you for your support, Durrell has never needed your help more than right now.

Leave a legacy
Some of the greatest gifts we receive are those left to us in Wills. They are hugely important to us and have enabled us to be ambitious, push boundaries and deliver conservation with a global impact. As we look to the future, this type of support is more important to us than ever before.
Together we can ensure Jersey Zoo endures this crisis by proving exemplary care for our animals and that we continue to reconnect people to nature and help drive the societal change needed to save and restore the natural world.
