Investec Rainforest Ball raises over £200k for Sumatran Orangutans

Durrell are delighted to announce that the Investec Rainforest Ball, on 16th September 2017, raised £220,426, which will be used to protect critically endangered Sumatran orangutans and their rainforest habitat. These funds will be split equally between Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust and the Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Programme (SOCP).

Event organiser, Zoe Hotton, commented: “I am absolutely delighted that the Rainforest Ball raised such a significant sum. I am so passionate about orangutans and I know this money will go a long way to help save these gentle apes. I would really like to thank gold sponsor Investec for their support in making the event such a success.”

Durrell are also thrilled to reveal that Investec will be the headline sponsor for the next major event in 2019, the Investec Wilderness Ball.

The date for the Investec Wilderness Ball is set for 28th September 2019. This will be an extra special occasion, as it will mark Durrell’s 60th Anniversary as well as celebrate Durrell’s new vision to ‘Rewild our World’.
