Wildlife Art Exhibition
Wednesday 17th June - Wednesday 8th July
Visit Durrell's Princess Royal Pavilion for the first exhibition of water colours by Durrell staff member, Monique Le Monnier, inspired by the Trust’s animals. The exhibition of original watercolours, including art work for the 50th anniversary plate, are now on sale at the Trinity headquarters, with 20% of proceeds being donated to the Trust.
Jersey born, Monique has always been passionate about animals, and for many years has also been an active member of the Jersey Hedgehog Preservation Group. An interest in public speaking through amateur dramatics, along with hands on work with hedgehogs gave her the experience to join Durrell’s Education and Visitor Services Department.
Monique can often be found giving public talks in the grounds. She is also responsible for the classroom animals, and compiles weekly bulletins keeping office staff and volunteers in touch with things happening on site.
She provides art work for signage, such as the portrait of our male orangutan at the enclosure, and teaching aids for the Education Department.
The exhibition will be on display during Durrell's usual opening times and normal entry costs apply.
