17/09/12 - 21/09/12
The Conservation Education and Evaluation course is a 5 day course that brings together cutting edge research, theory and practical experience in order to give participants a firm grounding in conservation education and the best ways to assess the impact.
The course is aimed at zoo educators and those working within the community to convey a conservation message.
The course is divided into three sections:
In addition you will learn how to design, facilitate and evaluate public participation workshops designed to engage visitors and gain valuable feedback on improving your education provision. There will be allocated time for one-to-one tutorials with lecturers to enable participants to develop their own conservation education and evaluation programmes.
The course is being run in conjunction with the University of Warwick.
By the end of the course participants will have a greater understanding of recent research and what it can tell us about best practice; the methods available to us to convey a message and their strengths and weaknesses; and methods to evaluate the impact of the message.
The course will run at the ITC in Jersey. Please contact us for further details.
The course fee is £700 (or £560 with early booking discount). This does not include accommodation which can be arranged for an additional charge.
