This wonderful portrait of Jambo by Richard Johnstone- Scott, who cared for him until he died in 1992, has been reproduced on a fine eight inch porcelain collector
plate and is accompanied by a quote from Richard’s biography of Jambo, which the Trust has just re-published due to popular demand. It is the second in a series of collector plates being produced by the Trust “Jambo” has been produced as a limited edition of only 750 plates and has been specially commissioned by the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust from the world renowned Jersey Pottery .
Proceeds from the sale of the plate will be used to support Durrell Wildlife’s work saving species worldwide.
Each plate is individually numbered on the reverse and is accompanied by its own certificate of authenticity. Each plate costs £29.95 plus postage and packing.
Each plate also has a co-ordinating bone china mug at £5.99 each. The Jambo mug has a head and shoulders portrait of Jambo by Richard Johnstone Scott with a second charming quote from his book "Such was his personality that even today he remains conspicuous by his absence. He truly was a remarkable gorilla".
