This Sunday, the 16th October sees Durrell Dash return for 2011, but this year with a difference. As well as the standard thirteen kilometre course, Durrell has now introduced a new six kilometre route catering for those who prefer a more moderate challenge.
Sponsored this year by the Alex Picot Group, both routes begin and end at Durrell Wildlife Park and take in the scenic parishes of Trinity, St Martin and St Saviour.
Athletes of all ages and abilities are invited to take part and raise funds to help the conservation charity in its mission to save species from extinction. All funds will be distributed between Durrell’s overseas conservation projects and those based at its headquarters here in Jersey.
The thirteen kilometre Dash begins with a warm up provided by Trudi Roscouetfrom Bodyrox Gym at 8.15am, followed by the race starting at 8.30am, whilst the six kilometre Dash warm up takes place at the slightly later time of 8.45am with the race starting pistol sounding at 9.00am.
Awards will be given for the fastest three participants in each Dash plus fastest male / female and fastest master in the 13k dash. All entrants will receive ‘goodies’ including a t-shirt. Entry is available on the day for £20 for adults and £10 for children.
