Offset with Durrell

This scheme is being run by Durrell in partnership with ECO-ACTIVE, the States of Jersey’s community environmental initiative.

		£8 Would offset a year’s worth of car travel of an average Jersey commuter (approx. 1/2 tonne)
		£15 Would offset the flights of an occasional business traveller (e.g. five return trips to London) (approx. 1 tonne)
		£30 Would offset the flights of a holiday traveller (e.g. one return trip to Hong Kong or two return trips to New York) (approx. 2 tonnes)
		£180 Would offset the flights of a frequent business traveller (e.g. thirty return trips to London) (approx. 12 tonnes)

To help the environment

Humankind continues to increase energy use resulting in fewer trees to absorb harmful gases. This pollutes our air but the Durrell scheme plants forests to offset this.

To help the animals

As governments and companies have torn down forest cover at alarming rates, species’ homes have disappeared. Durrell’s reforestation efforts restore, expand, and link previously destroyed habitats.

To help the people

“Conservation is as much about people as it is about animals,” explains  Durrell’s Director of Mammals Dominic Wormell. By teaching sustainable practices for working the land, Durrell empowers natives with the tools and knowledge to build better environments and brighter futures.
