Roxanne our black lion tamarin is currently being trained to become familiar with her tummy being touched by an unfamiliar object. This object is an ultra sound scanner which will be used to see how her pregnancy is getting along.
In the past she has had babies which became too big for her to handle therefore leading to caesarean births. So our vets want to make sure they can check up on her regularly and preferably in her enclosure to avoid stress.
