By donating unwanted mobile phone handsets, not only will you be helping Durrell save species from extinction, you'll be helping the environment also.
Not only will you be making a donation to the Trust, but by recycling these handsets we can make a significant contribution to managing the demand for precious minerals sourced from the deep forests of the Congo in central Africa. The Congo's mining business has in recent years led to a dramatic reduction of animal habitat, specifically the world's endangered lowland gorillas, a species close to Durrell’s heart. Re use and recycling can help to reduce the demand for new raw materials and also help us with our fundraising efforts and mission to save endangered animals from extinction.
By sending us your old handsets, you’ll be helping Durrell save species from extinction without breaking the bank! If you live in Jersey, drop your handset off to our headquarters the next time you visit or call us to arrange collection. If you live in the UK or overseas, contact us for information on how you can easily convert your phones to a cash donation yourself.
Why not spread the word to your friends and family who are likely to have at least a handful of handsets between them? Or start your own mobile phone collection for Durrell? Each and every phone is a valuable donation to the Trust.
