Galapagos & Ecuador's Wildlife

Thursday 9th October 2008

Frigate Bird

Building on the success of our previous Durrell escorted group tours to the Galapagos Islands and Ecuador's Amazonia, we are once again pleased to offer the chance to visit these fabulous wildlife destinations in the expert company of Quentin Bloxam, the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust 's Director of Conservation Management.

We have again chartered the popular M/V Cachalote for eight days' cruising among the islands, and included a five-day visit to a well run jungle lodge in the deep Amazonia region of Ecuador, led throughout by Quentin.

The island wildlife encountered by previous groups has been outstanding: the last group alone saw humpback whales (including a mother and calf), around 200 dolphins, turtles, rays, sharks, waved albatross, sealions, marine iguanas, giant tortoises, land iguanas, Darwin finches, penguins and a huge number of sea birds.

In Ecuadorian Amazonia, a particular favourite of Quentin’s, previous groups saw an astonishing amount of wildlife: large numbers of primates (red howler monkeys, spider monkeys, squirrel monkeys, brown capuchins and golden mantled tamarins), river otters, black caimans, macaws and parrots.

Join us for another wonderful widlife journey with Quentin Bloxam and Reef and Rainforest Tours.

A donation will be made to Durrell for every group member. Total price for the 16 Days Group Tour will be: £4296 per person sharing twin/double accommodation including international flights.
