Established in April 1924, the Jersey Electricity Company, today, is a £60 million turnover business and is the sole distributor of electricity on the Island of Jersey. Their aim is to provide a safe, secure supply of electricity at minimum cost to customers and the environment.
Their core business is the supply of electricity on the Island of Jersey. Alongside this, their various other business activities operate in a number of market sectors, with the aim of continually achieving better use of core assets and staff resources.
We are very grateful to Jersey Electricity Company for their continuous support. Over the last few years, Jersey Electricity has given technical advice and assistance to the planning team working on the expansion of various areas within the Trust. Since 2001, Jersey Electricity have supported Durrell with initiatives that include the ‘Buy a Reed’ appeal, the installation of lighting around the Valley, a membership campaign through their electricity bills, the extension of the wrinkled hornbill enclosure, repairing and insulating the macaque accommodation, sponsoring the 2007 Durrell race night evening dinner and a subsidy against their electricity bill.
