Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust – UK (DWCT – UK) is a charitable company limited by guarantee registered in England & Wales on 6th December 2007 (Company no. 06448493) (registered charity number 1121989).
Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust is the sole member of Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust – UK. The Board comprises Tricia Kreitman, David Richards, Eleanor J Milner-Gulland, Christopher Collins, Ian Lazarus and Tim Ringsdore as Honorary Secretary. The net assets and undertaking of the Gerald Durrell Wildlife Preservation Trust was transferred early in 2009 to the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust – UK.
Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust – UK replaces the UK registered charity ‘Gerald Durrell Wildlife Preservation Trust’ (Charity Registration number 232004) as the prior registered charity was no longer fit for purpose. UK residents supporting Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust - UK will be eligible to become a full voting member of Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust subject to application to, and approval by, its Board of Trustees.
While DWCT – UK has been established in order to support the work of DWCT, it is an independent UK charity with wide environmental objectives and the application of its funds will be determined by its independent Board of Trustees.
