
Jonathan White was elected Chairman of Durrell's Board of Trustees with effect from 1 July 2006. Jonathan was formally Chairman of Ogier, one of the largest providers of offshore legal and fiduciary services, where he remains as a Consultant . After qualifying as a Solicitor in England in 1981, Jonathan practised in Bristol before moving to Jersey the following year. Once there, he sat and passed the English Bar examinations before going on to qualify as a Jersey Advocate.
Jonathan first came into contact with what was then called The Jersey Wildlife Conservation Trust through his work, and this led to him developing a long-term interest in Durrell and all aspects of its work. In addition to his legal practice, Jonathan has extensive corporate and commercial experience, having served as a director of a number of extremely substantial organisations with interests in a wide range of diversified industries. He is currently Chairman of Jersey Finance Limited. Jonathan lives in Jersey, and is married with three children and two stepchildren.
