Following his education and professional training in the UK, Derek Maltwood returned home to Jersey in 1966. Since that date he has been a regular visitor to and supporter of the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust. In 1988 he co-founded the Trust’s ‘L’Assemblee des Guardiens’, a group of high-profile volunteers established to raise funds for Durrell Wildlife.
Derek has been a Member of the States of Jersey since 1987, and a member of the Finance and Economics Committee since 1990. Derek’s years of financial experience mean that as well as contributing to the general governance of the Trust, he is well equipped to help balance its aspirations with its available funds.
