Orang-Cam Live

12th May 2009

Dana SMarshall

Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, Channel Television and Airtel-Vodafone are delighted to the launch of the Trust's first webcam at the Jersey headquarters. Orang-Cam Live allows you to monitor the progress of Dana's pregancy as the young orangutan prepares for motherhood for the first time.

It is hoped the Orang-Cam will be the first in a series of cameras to be placed around the grounds at Durrell in Jersey, to form part of what is envisaged to become a Durrell "web wall", hosted on Channel Television's website.

The first of the cameras, which was installed in the orangutan enclosure in May, will be following the pregnant Dana and her partner, Dagu, in the lead up to the birth of their first baby.

The camera will be live on Channel Television's site between 9 am and 6pm Monday to Friday and will re-fresh every 60 seconds.
