9th March 2010
This Mothering Sunday - March 14th, mum’s can visit Durrell for half price with a full-paying child.
Treat your Mum, enjoy a walk around 32 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens and discover more than 130 different animal species including some very special mums.
Like Madison our alpha female meerkat, and a real super mum; in the past six and a half years Madison has had forty seven babies!
Gina our Sumatran orangutan is also a very yummy mummy; watch her playing in the sunshine with her daughter Mawar. Now the grand age of 46, she’s been at Durrell since she was two years old and during that time she’s successfully raised six offspring.
Stop for coffee at the Dodo restaurant and then round off the day with a unique gift from Durrell, where there really is something for everyone.
Perhaps your mum loves the lemurs or the otters? Adopt her favourite animal for a gift that lasts a whole year, or buy her an annual membership so she can visit whenever she likes – as well as supporting our charitable conservation work.
Alternatively, for a special Mothers Day treat we’re offering a potted version of Durrell’s unique rose featuring semi double, lightly scented blooms of deep crimson with stripes of white, pink and occasionally yellow for half price at just £10.00.
